AREA OF STUDY: CAMPUS-IN-THE-CITY
assumptions, work objectives, examples of indicators of investigations (lists, "numbers ")
From the name proposed for the study area, Campus-in-the-City, derive the criteria for the identification of its borders. It starts from the reality 'of a home of a faculty' and a university department of Sapienza Universita 'di Roma and is the focus of an urban environment defined in an arbitrary manner, with the only objective of capturing some urban elements that seem to be the characteristic of dialogue with the university population. To the south, Piazza del Popolo to the west, a section of river to the north, the Fine Arts Avenue to the east, a major urban park.
The assumption
The assumptions and 'the community' education (for our purposes be treated to a group of citizens ) lives his life without any real relationship with the district is located in (treated as public space ). The paradox ' that this is a community 'consists mostly of future architects and urban planners. Interventions that occurred recently in the district, such as the redevelopment of the tramline on the Via Flaminia, seem to have been lived with indifference. Many students spend a minimum of three years in the district without knowing nullla of its urban history, without using cotinuita with 'the provision of public space, without visiting its historical-artistic, like the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo in the north or the Museum of Villa Giulia in the south, or had never received its core culture (for example, the Filarmonica Romana).
Fatto questo, si trattera’ di rispondere ai seguenti questiti : a) che rapporto exists between this part of town 'and the presence of a large student population? b) in what way this university presence could lead to positive synergies in order to transform a casual relationship into a real and seconded Campus in the City? c) in a public space that could help to create this project?
